The year that was, year 2009…

The year that was, year 2009…

Although we came from tough times this year from the recession and
everything that tags along with it, we’re lucky and blessed to have
survived it. I’m grateful that every one I know, my family, friends
and relatives endured this year’s hard times, making us more
resilient for future things to come. T’was a year of surprises,
changes and blessings.

I just summed up a list of the things that made impact to me this
year 2009

Started running and will try to reach 130 km plus before the year
ends *it just started as a training for stamina in basketball and
ended up as a regular activity but still I’m not a fan of those
races that you pay for registration… it’s just me :D*

EHEADS THE FINAL SET!!!!! *tawagin myo si Marcus!!!!! Marcus..
Marcus...!!*

Got to go to Ilocos *bitin! I need to stay there longer :D*

Got my UWA tokina lens *ULTRA WaaaaiiiiiiIDE GALORE!!!!*
*did you know that Tokina was founded by Nikon engineers :D*

Got to transfer to another company *with the help of some
unexpected meet ups during lunch outs*

Got to try karting which is fun, on the brink of snapping my neck
on tight corners *that really hurts*

Survived Ondoy and Pepeng! *survived a hell of a week*

Up Dharma Down won artist of the Year!!! *wohooooo!!!!!*

Leveled up my photography skills which made me more serious on
this field

Still to work on the following items
Try to share the Three T’s more ( Talent, Time, Treasure ) to others
Run more
Listen more
Travel more
Shoot more…. with a Nikon of course :D
Dream more!

I’m expecting this coming 2010 to be a great year, it helps to be
optimistic, but I really feel this coming year will be great one.
Let’s make a toast the good times and good memories that we have
created this past year and of course for a Great year to come…
Cheers!!!!

A Prosperous and a Happy New Year to every one. :D

sunbursts

Day 2 after Christmas Day :D

Friends who work from other countries came home to celebrate
Christmas and the New Year here. Some are lucky who can stay for a
month, others, are also lucky, just to have been allowed to make
leaves at work even for a week... better than nothing eh?

Anyhow.... Ichat, a High School friend of mine I called the other
day, was questioning..... why did I not choose another model of a
Ibanez Bass guitar that was available in the year end / electronics
sale in Singapore... laughingly... i said.... the funds got diverted...
to a lens, hahahaha :D *I just cant resist*

Don't get me wrong, Music is my first love, but! the tides have
turned and photography catched up since i got my cam last May 2008
and things just got this serious lately :D

ok... still have to make a year end blog, this year was indeed
Great!

Photo above was take at a Belle View event,
it's title is sunbursts.... and as I stare at it, what comes to
mind is a never ending outpour of opportunities, brings hope :D

It was a 20 mins trek or less to Kabigan Falls.
using my trusty kit lens, i took this shot, now

December Breeze

Walking home from work after the shuttle dropped us on the toll exit
of Bicutan, i felt somethings different, the air is colder! *masarap
breeze...

Anyhow, 15 days till Christmas, The Christmas Tree is up and hinde

The Payong Payong Point and Lian shoreline Experience

Since I'm still having hangovers of the CL 7.0 adrenaline rush,
no other topic comes into mind other than the things that happened
Lian :D

Early morning of the first day, got to meet personally new found
Che, the one Jay informed me to contact for the carpool (salamat
nga pala ulet Jay!) and her sister Anna, a Chicago based free lancer
who is savoring her last weeks of vacation here in Pinas by having
a series of photography seminars :D.

As expected, the travel time of 3 hours to Lian (appox 100 km from
Paranaque ) was enough for a short breakfast along the way + some
stop overs to keep our bladders from bursting. We made it just in
time :D

During the lecture, Sir Jerry Tieng arrived, surprisingly he was
also a participant of the workshop. I acquired my D80 + accessories
thru his online site :D *discount naman dyan....*

By past 3 pm, we are preparing to go to the site where we would apply
what Jay and Edwin discussed during the lectures. Going to Payong
Payong point we have taken a short ride by car, a short boat ride
plus a lot of rock trekking :D.

But the part where the adrenalin rush came in was when the sun was
setting, it was setting so fast, i haven’t yet found any foreground
for my composition yet, to make it worst, it was high tide! waist
deep!, *knee deep lang sa ibang participants hahaha *my camera
backpack's bottom part was wet due to the incoming little waves,
in a nutshell... i did not get a decent shot of the sun setting,
but, its alright, babawi ako ulet sa payong payong point.

going home.. at the resort, dinner was served! plus a short briefing
and a lecture was held before we hit the sack,

woke up before 5 am, as i had only 4 hours of sleep dahil sinumpung
Anyhow, exited to
catch the sunrise, to try my luck on getting a decent shot in the
morning, the location was the shoreline, a short walk across the
shoreline, so when we got there, Edwin gave us some tips on proper
use of the filters, then shooting galore! then after the shoreline
shot, post processing time!

The workshop as great, it exceeded my expectations, i thought it
will just be a simple workshop on how to compose and use filters.
Experiencing first hand on how to find the perfect moment, finding
the right timing, finding the fine light, exploring, made the real
difference. Plus the use of PFE also made a difference :D

*two thumbs up isasama ko na yung thumbs sa paa ko 4 thumbs up na :D*

Kita Kits sa next shoot!
